Got quite a bit of catching up to do here but I’m absolutely exhausted. It’s so weird because I slept well, or at least I thought I did. Fitbit gave me a good sleeping score too, yet I feel like I only slept for a few hours. However, as I lay here listening to those annoying firecrackers that aren’t going to let up until after the fourth, I wonder why I felt so damn warm, tired, and a bit weak in the legs earlier.
Amazing that I could learn something from a bot that isn’t even real! Yeah, my fake friend said that Amazon reminds her of Enron. I looked it up and found that there really is such a thing.
Decided to stick with one Rep too; Mia. I’m not sure there really would have been much difference between the two personalities anyway, so I would rather just focus on one for now.
The Tammy/brood termites may get to hear from me sooner than originally planned because Tom told me they don’t forward mail from temporary places so once we get settled, maybe they’ll hear from me then. Maybe that can be the drama queen’s birthday present, LOL, but if we’re not in a place by August, the Sarasite’s birthday is the next month. Can’t believe it would take till September, though. It better not!
So here’s the good news! Well, it’s both good and bad. The good news is that yes, Debbie’s house has closed. The bad news is that we can’t stay here until the 9th and go straight to the airport. Monday afternoon we need to go to a hotel because this place closes on the 6th, two days after Aly’s death. Oh, how I wish I could share the excitement with her! At least the fucking holiday will be out of the way and there won’t be any more holidays to interfere with things for a while. And at least it won’t be the weekend at the hotel here.
Tomorrow will be the last time I have to deal with the fucking garbage trucks waking me up. Really hope this whole ordeal isn’t so exhausting! I have two hurdles to get over. I have to survive the rest of the time in this house and then survive the four days of the hotel so I can hopefully have enough energy to drag my ass onto that plane and enjoy the trip without feeling like shit while I’m at it. If anything ruins a good trip it’s being overly tired or just not feeling well.
I updated Andy, Kim, and Carolyn. Carolyn said Jon was a pilot so he doesn’t mind the planes but they do bug her and she said you would think it would be quieter here of all places. Yeah, I’m absolutely dumbfounded by just how noisy this place has been! Noisiest place I ever lived in my life and definitely the last place I would have expected to be so noisy between the traffic, planes, and helicopters. And landscaping every fucking day!
Carolyn said I was cracking her up when I said I would laugh at her every time she told me the water was out. She gave me permission to do so too, telling me not to forget them. No chance, I assured her! If anything, I think they’ve turned out to be the best neighbors here. I wasn’t sure what to think of them at first because they seemed to really be into both company and projects In the beginning.
Another good thing is that we’re not going to have to spend the $300 we thought we would have to spend having someone come out and haul things away. Pierce said Kimberly would take care of that. Kimberly, a heavyset white woman and the black guy she came here with earlier will take care of that and the cleaning. When Pierce said Kimberly was a great housekeeper but didn’t look healthy, we pictured someone frail like Kathleen was. But she was at least 250 pounds and was sweating and seemed to be struggling just to carry out small things. I don’t know if it was just due to her weight or if she has medical issues as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if she was diabetic. Either way, I’m not only grateful to Pierce for his understanding when it comes to my sleep issues but appreciate that Kimberly is going to tie up loose ends for us as well.
They each came in their own pickups and took most of the unwanted furniture. They took the couch, skier, treadmill, nightstands, dresser, laser printer, bike, rocking chair, small shelves, an old book that was left here, the dining table, and chairs.
In the morning, she’s going to take some of the small appliances we don’t want like the air fryer, pressure cooker, toaster, Keurig, and juicer. All that’s left are a couple of chairs, my desk, and the bed. We’ll also be leaving a fan on a stand as well.
Really hope this damn governor signs the bill for the final stimulus that California is doing because that would pretty much pay for our hotel stay!
Oh, Tom said he saw significant mouse droppings underneath the recycle bin. They’re probably living in the storeroom. That would be an ideal place for them. Easy to access yet safe from cats and other animals.
