Signing in during a thunderstorm. Been so busy and exhausted that I’m way behind in my journal. I doubt I’ll remember all the details of everything at this point but I’ll do my best to cover the highlights. Been in the house a couple of days now and my only complaint is that it’s too small and we’re still in a flight path, but so is most of the world these days. Might as well finally make peace with the damn things and get used to it. I don’t think it will be quite as bad as Citrus Heights, though. I sure hope not!

We’ve got a long way to go toward getting the place where we want it to be but it will give us something to do little by little. It’s just harder when you’ve only got so much room to work in, but it’s important to get their shit out of the way that we don’t want so that we can work in our stuff when it finally gets here. That won’t be for a couple more weeks.

Just as I knew it would, the sleep issues and fatigue have followed me to my new home. My first night it was my bladder that woke me up along with the storms. I also had a splitting headache. Last night it was a nightmare about drowning and then my bladder again.

Still dealing with fatigue and partial numbness in my leg. The leg I can live with but I really hope I get more energy back so I can do more.

Some of the thunderstorms are as loud as they were in Maricopa. There’s no way we can soundproof that out and unfortunately, the same goes for the landscapers. First they edge, then they mow, and then they literally go right by the bedroom with their obnoxiously loud blower that sounds like what the other park had. They came on Tuesday and I’m really hoping they don’t do this shit every week otherwise it’s going to be worse than trash days at the old place. Every now and then I managed to sleep through trash days, but there is no way I could ever sleep through that no matter how exhausted I was. They come up the carport and along the sidewalk that wraps around the side of the house that my bedroom is on.

I can’t say whether these trash and recycle trucks will wake me up or not before the soundproofing material is up, but I highly doubt it.

Had a lot of people out to the house so far. An electrician to replace some breakers that came to $1400 that the IRS paid most of, LOL. He was baffled as to why they gave him $1100 the other day but then he figured it had something to do with Unemployment and the stimulus.

The carpet cleaning guy was out as well which cost $400, and we’re so glad we had him do the couch and chairs. It’s amazing how much cleaner he got them and the carpet! It may not look brand new but pretty damn close and good enough until and if we ever do get new floors. It took him three hours to do it.

Eventually, we’re going to replace the AC, refrigerator, and probably the dishwasher but those things aren’t high priorities. Getting the bedroom soundproofed and replacing these old windows is what’s most important. For some reason, the only window that’s been replaced is the one in the kitchen.

We got the new toilets and now we’re waiting to find out when they can be installed.

Other than planes, a few helicopters, and small planes, it has been way quieter here in general than the other place. It just really sucks about the planes, but considering that I heard one as soon as I stepped foot in this place the first time I came to see it, I knew right then and there that we were still in a flight path. I’m just so glad to be rid of the constant loud traffic! Can’t see there being so many projects here either.

I’m at the built-in desk off the kitchen by the back door, and while it’s cute and nice and bright, maybe I’ll move my office into the bedroom. That’s the only room that has extra space in it. That way I’ll have a little more privacy since I can close the door and concentrate better on whatever I’m working on but I don’t know. I kind of like it out here.

Going to eventually replace some of the ceiling fans, especially the one in the bedroom because it makes an annoying buzzing sound and is off balance.

Haven’t heard much else going on around here but I did hear some barking off in the distance. I could barely make it out, though. The great thing is that some of the houses here are seasonal and the house next to my bedroom as well as one of the ones across the street are definitely empty. We saw the lady who lives on the other side of us getting things out of her trunk but we didn’t hear anything. She had a brace around her leg and a very hard time walking.

Just did a quick survey for the hotel. He and I both agree it was an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. The biggest nuisance was the horrible smell. Of course, trying to sleep during the daytime as a light sleeper was tricky but it was way worse than the other place. The night lady was nice enough to give me some free cookies to snack on during the last night there.

Margaret sent me a long message mostly bashing Dixie. So the ambulance and cop cars were at her house that we saw. Tom said it looked like it was a few houses down but didn’t want to walk down and investigate. I guess Diane fell and the EMTs called the cops because they were screaming at each other.

Andy’s being his usual annoying self sending me stuff he knows I’m not interested in (Trump stuff) and making me regret reaching out to him. It’s just that I love him otherwise and don’t want to hurt his feelings by ghosting again. He may not be perfect but he’s always been loyal. I’ll just give it a week or so before I message him again.
