Heading across Ohio on my virtual ride.

4 kids are visiting and riding around on bikes. Well, hopefully they’re visiting and not living here like at the old place. It would be harder to get away with that here, though, especially 4 of them. Regardless, can kids ever play without screaming?

Yesterday I stepped inside and said, “What is it with these people?”

Ray was hosing down the mold on the side of his place, and I was glad to see he didn’t have a pressure washer so it wouldn’t have woken me up. I said hello to him on my way out to grab the mail and he gave me the same abrupt response I got from the honker with a hint of fuck-off-and-leave-me-alone in it. Why did I ever think people were less friendly out West? I guess it was those few extremes out there that made it seem that way.

In the park group, a woman said she moved because while she wanted to live with her peers which was why she chose a 55+ place, she got junior high drama instead. She said she’ll miss many nice people that she knew here but management sucked, and she was tired of the component many refer to as the “mean girls” though it is no longer possible to leave the other gender out of that title! She said they bully, spread rumors, lie and talk behind your back and that the meanness spreads into meetings and events, poking fingers at people, yelling at residents, and is that a way for adults to behave?

I guess she served on the board for a while and said that she did her best to try to serve the community but certain people want it to stay ugly, mean and toxic!

I know exactly how she feels and I have only experienced a small taste of the immature bullshit that lives here. This is why I mostly keep to myself, as I told her.

Anyway, Ray was hosing and the honker was blowing his driveway so hopefully they’re getting ready to get the hell out of here. The honker has been spending a lot of time with his new lady friend. I’ve gotten more howling but less motorcycle so hopefully they’ll pick up where they left off when he returns. The howling only lasts for a minute or so. Happy is still more annoying. In fact, he just started his first round of barking for the day. I’m glad one of us around here thinks it’s funny as fuck.

The skies are full of planes as they usually are but over the weekend it’s been mostly small planes rather than commercials.

The turtle that comes around every now and then has gotten too big to slip under the fence in back. At least we think it’s the same turtle anyway.

Again, I was woken by what I thought was a thump but Tom was up and didn’t hear a thing. He says he thinks it’s in my brain and that he sometimes hears knocking that doesn’t exist. One time he thought someone was knocking on the door while he was asleep but when he checked the camera, he didn’t see anyone. He said it happens when he’s in between sleep and wakefulness but my “bangs” jolt me out of a dead sleep and it doesn’t matter which ear I sleep on.

I still feel like my sleep is so cursed no matter where we live or what I do. I admit I didn’t sleep with a mouthguard last night because it makes my cheeks bulge out a bit and I couldn’t get comfortable laying on my stomach with my cheeks pressing too hard into the pillow. It’s easier to adjust that when I’m lying on my side but it’s harder for me to fall asleep on my side. Pretty sure this thing won’t stop me from snoring if I flop onto my back in my sleep because my snoring comes from the back of my nose and not the back of my throat. I’ll make sure to use it tonight and see how it goes. Meanwhile, I’m tired but not crazy tired like my body wants to shut down completely.

Tom got his lab results yesterday and is still pre-diabetic. His good cholesterol is also too low, and there were a couple of other numbers that were borderline. He’s making a point of being more active. He went out walking this morning but came back quickly because it was chilly.

To say this is the coldest winter and spring is an understatement! Definitely surprised and disappointed by how many cold days we have here. It’s only been coming up to the low to mid-70s so I’m able to open windows during the daytime. At least we get to enjoy the fresh air.

Yesterday I felt warm and my heart raced and while I know that some of the junk I ate may have contributed to it, I still think my TSH is a bit low, so I cut my waiting time to just 10 minutes today. But this is the last time I’m going to do that before labs in June.

I may not be using my second Facebook account as much but I’ll still share links to future audios on the blog I created for that. I’ll mostly do audios when I’m on nights. The Facebook account might still be good for sharing pictures and random thoughts and happenings.
