The house diagonally from us is back on with the home improvements, and no one’s come for the couch and dressers yet. They better hurry up. In less than 6 hours the gates will be locked. It would kind of suck if it didn’t get taken because then we’ll have to wait till August to get rid of the dishwasher and other items.

One or two Internet outages a day is normal, but last night I swore we were back in Auburn. I had to reset the modem and was offline for about half an hour. Usually, it just hiccups for a minute like everyone else does, but this was much more than a hiccup. Something is still wrong with it because it’s really slow. I guess we’re going to have to go back to calling and bitching for the service we pay for.

Got to make my first kill yesterday with our zapping swatter. A spider was in the middle of the bathroom floor. So I ran and grabbed the zapper. Since the spider was barely half an inch long, I placed the swatter down flat on the floor. The damn thing started running in different directions, trying to escape. Then I remembered I had to hold the button down. It zapped that sucker dead cold in a second! It made a loud popping sound and a spark of white light the size of a pen tip. I can see where this would really hurt a person and maybe even kill a rat. Spiders as huge as we would find in the desert might end up on fire with this thing.

Later on, I spotted another one in the bedroom where the wall and ceiling meet. At that angle, I couldn’t zap it. So I knocked it down with the tip of the zapper, planning to electrocute the fucker on the ground. But then it disappeared! I did not like having to go to sleep knowing the damn thing was still on the loose, but I haven’t seen it since.

Last night I dreamed I was on this tiny beach. The only way to leave it was through this gate, but I could see a snake just under the gate. I tried to scare it away with a stick or something but that only pissed it off. I took a step back as it came toward me and fell back onto my ass. Unable to get back up fast enough I started rolling away from it.

Next thing I knew, I was inside some huge house by this beach in which several people lived. I must’ve been desperate for some reason because some girl in her twenties let me take a shower there and borrow some clothes. I thought of asking for lotion but figured she’d done enough for me. I wished whatever problem I was having was solved so I could surprise her with a 20-dollar bill for helping me and then be on my way. I asked when a certain person would be home and it seemed to be someone I was hoping to avoid. She told me not for many hours and I wandered around the place a bit. I admired the view out a huge window of a swimming pool and then the sea behind it.
