I’m nearly 5k richer today. :) And of course I won’t think of the 6-plus grand my nieces got, even if each one got less than I received. I still can’t believe my mother gave her granddaughters more of the total money than her daughter. Who the hell does that? well, despite how unfair I personally may see it, I hope they enjoy it. One niece has a child, two are moving to Florida, and the others is - well - I don’t know and I don’t care.

For Tom and I… I am grateful to have that money for the new carpet and whatever else we end up doing with it since the carpet should only be 2-3 grand. We’re going to buy thin padding and cheaper carpet being just two adults in here.

As soon as Tom got in and picked up the mail and the check we ran to the bank with it. They put a hold on it till the 9th, but that’s ok.

From now on if it’s over 65° I’m not running outdoors. Running in the sun in the 70s felt like the 90s. Getting some color isn’t worth it unless I’m by the pool. Excerpting myself in the direct sunlight when it’s warm out makes me feel like I’m burning. My face felt like someone had been slapping it all after I returned home. Also, my hands swelled up and I felt my fingertips throbbing. Hmm… wonder what that meant.

We ran the AC for a few minutes to make sure it worked ok. Of course it does. We’re still under warranty. It’s after we’ve been here a year that we’ll have to worry. Tomorrow’s to be 85° so we’ll definitely need it for a while. We’ve got the heat turned off completely.

Chapter 7 is now finished, my story’s not even 12k words yet, and I’m already wondering if I can come up with enough action to stretch it to the 50k requirement for this year’s NaNoWriMo.

*gazes down at her chipped pink nail polish* Guess I could always do my nails while I’m thinking about it.
